Mascot DC/AC inverters convert a DC input (typically 12 V or 24 V from a battery, vehicle system or solar installation) to a regulated 230 V / 50 Hz AC output for UK and European applications. What to look for
- Waveform. Pure sine wave for sensitive electronics, medical, audio and inductive motor loads. Modified sine wave for cost-sensitive resistive loads only.
- Continuous vs peak power. Rate the inverter for the continuous draw of your load, then confirm the peak/surge rating exceeds the in-rush current of motors, pumps or compressors.
- Input voltage. Match the inverter's DC input window (10.5–15V, 21–30V or 42–60V) to your battery bank's fully-charged and end-of-discharge voltage.
- Efficiency & no-load draw. Higher-efficiency inverters and low quiescent current matter when the inverter sits idle on a battery-only system.
- Protection. Look for over-voltage, under-voltage, over-temperature, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection as standard.
