Who Mascot are
Founded in Fredrikstad, Norway in 1956, Mascot has spent nearly seven decades engineering battery chargers, switch-mode power supplies, linear PSUs, DC/DC converters and AC/AC adaptors for industrial, medical, marine and professional applications. Their range is known for build quality, long service life, broad approvals coverage (IEC, UL, medical 60601-1) and an unusually wide model selection - from miniature plug-tops to rugged enclosed chargers for traction batteries.

DC/AC Inverters
Mascot DC/AC inverters convert a DC input (typically 12 V or 24 V from a battery, vehicle system or solar installation) to a regulated 230 V / 50 Hz AC output for UK and European applications. The range Continuous output power from a few tens of watts up to several hundred watts, with surge handling for resistive and inductive starting loads. DC/DC Converters
Mascot DC/DC converters for industrial, transport, marine, telecoms and mobile equipment where the source is a battery or vehicle supply rather than the mains. The range Converts standard nominal inputs (12 V, 24 V, 48 V) to regulated DC outputs from 5 V up to 48 V, with rated power from a few watts up to several hundred watts. Wide input windows tolerate real-world supply variation, cold-crank dips and load-dump transients. Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) Battery Chargers
Mascot nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) and nickel-cadmium (NiCd) battery chargers for industrial, broadcast, medical and survey applications. The range Single-cell and multi-cell packs from 1.2 V up to 36 V, with rated charge currents from 100 mA to several amps. End-of-charge detection Constant-current profile with: • −ΔV peak voltage drop • dT/dt temperature rise • Absolute temperature cut-out via a pack-mounted NTC or thermistor This is the combination Mascot uses to prevent overcharge while still topping cells to full capacity. Top-up and trickle stages keep packs ready for service without cell damage. Linear AC/AC
Pulsar Developments stock and distribute a large range of AC/AC adaptors — a reliable way to transform mains voltage to lower AC voltages for applications including toys and certain audio amplifiers that require an AC input voltage. Standards & construction Designed to meet EN 60601 medical specification, ensuring a safe, reliable and ruggedised solution. Linear AC/AC power supplies may only be used in applications NOT falling under EU Directive 2009/125/EC, Regulation 2019/1782 and the UK Regulation for Eco-design. They are a good option when an AC output voltage is required. Linear AC/DC
Mascot linear AC/DC power supplies and battery eliminators, designed for low-noise applications where switch-mode supplies would inject unacceptable conducted or radiated interference. Typical use cases include measurement and test equipment, audio and broadcast, medical instrumentation and sensitive analogue electronics. The range Regulated and unregulated DC outputs from 3 V to 30 V, with continuous current ratings from a few hundred milliamps to several amps, in fixed-voltage or multi-tap configurations. Construction Conventional 50 Hz mains transformer, bridge rectifier and linear regulator — heavier and less efficient than switch-mode equivalents, but with negligible high-frequency ripple and excellent line/load regulation. Mascot lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery chargers for single-cell through multi-cell packs, covering the typical 4.2 V/cell chemistries used in portable instruments, professional video, medical devices and survey equipment. The range 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-cell chargers with charge currents from 350 mA to 5 A. Charge profile Constant-current / constant-voltage (CC/CV) — current-limited bulk charging until cell voltage reaches the float threshold, then voltage-limited absorption until termination current is reached. Lithium-Ion Phosphate (LiFePO4) Battery Chargers
Mascot lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery chargers engineered for the safer, longer-life lithium chemistry increasingly specified in medical, marine, mobility, robotics and professional portable equipment. The range Single-cell through multi-cell packs at a nominal 3.2 V/cell, with charge currents from several hundred milliamps up to several amps and float voltages tuned to the 3.6 V/cell endpoint that LiFePO4 cells require. Charge profile Constant-current / constant-voltage (CC/CV) dedicated to LiFePO4 — bulk charging at rated current until the per-cell float voltage is reached, then voltage-limited absorption until termination current is met. End-of-charge is signalled by status LEDs.
